The Learned Society is a honorary society of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. We strive to support the development of science, spread scientific knowledge, debate the ethical questions of research and its practical applications, declare clear positions on the problems and norms of science and technology, influence the direction of research at the SAS and in Slovakia, and honorably represent the SAS.

We invite you to the May meeting of the Learned Society on Friday May 18th at 3pm in the lecture hall of the QUTE pavillion of the Institue of Physics of the SAS in Bratislava.

Prof. RNDr. Ladislav Kvasz, PhD. from Charles University (Prague) will give us a lecture on Language and change, describing the mechanism of evolution of the language of mathematics.

Jarné zasadnutie Učenej spoločnosti

We invite you to the spring meeting of the Learned society on March 14th at 3pm in the lecture hall of the Pavillion QUTE at the Institute of Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava.

In the first, public part, we will have a lecture by Dr. Marián Krajčí on the Nobel-prize in chemistry 2011 winning topic: The discovery of quasicrystals.

The Academic ranking and rating agency (ARRA) has made public its sixth evaluation of universities and their faculties, based on the analysis of publicly available and verifiable data about their scientific activities, faculty, student numbers, student application numbers, grants and doctoral studies.
